Ariel Obsession

I've always been a huge fan of Disney. I saw Aladdin when I was 2 at the cinema and I've been hooked ever since.
This past month I've become "obsessed" with drawing Ariel :)
She's definitely one of the most favourite Disney females to draw. On deviantart, there are thousands of illustrations of her. She's very popular!
I love her. She's so beautiful to draw. Glen Keane and Mark Henn are big inspirational people in my life.

Speaking of Mark Henn, I created a Facebook Appreciation group for him a few months ago. Recently, many well-known figures from the Disney company have joined! I was thrilled! It may have been one of the most surreal and best days of my life to see all their names! :) Just to see they had Facebook was kind of bizarre. This internet business is craaaazy :P

If anyone out there loves Mark Henn and his work for Disney Animation then please join! :) http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=121290623970&ref=ts

But moving on---! Here's an Ariel sketch page I drew a week or so ago...

I love drawing lots of different views when sketching. I don't feel satisfied drawing just one! I especially love drawing the face to try and get different expressions and impressions. In these Ariel skecthes I'm drawing without reference; though for any other Disney character I'd probably use references for things like costume and hair. I don't think I'll ever grow tired of drawing Ariel. Or Disney-related things for that matter. :)

Here's another page of Ariel sketches I drew last night...

I've also been planning a big Disney project...I've had the idea for a week or so, and I've been planning and designing and sketching those ideas down. I'll upload the sketches soon.
It involves all the singing Disney females from Snow White -> Tiana :)
I can't wait to really get started on it :)

An Introduction...

Hello blogspot.com!

From many months of deliberation I have finally decided to create an account here.

I've decided to create a sketchblog.

I am not a notable artist, but I'm trying my best. I feel that a sketchblog would be the best way to get myself motivated to draw more often and gradually see progression in my work over however long I can continue this.

I have been a member of the dA for 3 years now. You can find me here: www.daiskianimej.deviantart.com I know, it's a retarded name. I was young OK? :P I mainly post fanart drawings, be it Manga, film or Disney-related. I also draw some original work which I feel I'd prefer to upload here sometimes instead of the dA. To make it more personal I suppose. :)

I'm a first-year animation student in the UK. I love to animate characters, and with next term being "character performance" I am eager to put my all into it and learn more.

I have many interests. The main ones being animation, musical broadway, soundtracks, films, psychology and art history. Though doing animation, I am trying to keep an open mind towards things, as I think more thoughts and more knowledge is better than having a completely closed off mind. Though obviously, I can't be objective all the time, so will most likely be posting long ranting sessions about things/mass-media crap/anything that really ticks me off in the future. :P

So, in this blog I shall be (mostly) posting sketches and drawings I do, talking about them and maybe talking about other points of interest that pop up in my life that I want to share.

So I suppose, it's time to draw then...

:)
